Hip replacement is a surgical procedure in which surgeons remove and replace a painful hip joint with arthritis and replaces it with an artificial joint often made from metal and plastic components. The procedure should relieve a painful hip joint, making walking easier.

• Keep your toes pointing forward or slightly out.
• Keep your knees apart. Don't cross your legs.
• Don't rotate your leg too far to the inside.
• Do not bend your hip more than 90 degrees.
